Requirements for UAE Golden Visa

As per the update from the UAE government, the applicant should select one of the following three options to qualify for UAE residence.

Investment fund: 10-year visa
  • Minimum contribution of AED 2 million (about USD 550,000) into an approved investment fund in the United Arab Emirates. 
  • Minimum of AED 2 million (about USD 550,000) must be invested in a business with a current commercial or industrial license.
Senior employees: 10-year visa
  • Under the mentioned investment fund option, investors may submit a letter authorizing their senior employee to receive a 10-year residence visa if they select an executive director or advisor for ten years. 
  • The application may also include the spouse and unmarried children of the employee.
Real estate: Renewable five-year visa
  • Minimum real estate acquisition of AED 2 million (about USD 550,000) with an authorization letter from the Dubai Real Estate Registration Department are required. 
  • Purchasing real estate with a loan requires a minimum expenditure of above AED 2 million.

Procedure to Get a UAE Residence by Investment 

Step 1: Submit the duly filled and signed UAE residence application form, and the fees and other supporting documents should accompany it. For the investment fund and senior employees' category, the residence visas are valid for 10 years, and the real estate option is valid for five years. And this can be renewed prior to its expiry. 

Step 2: Once the initial diligence has been completed, the application will be submitted to the UAE government. 

Step 3: If your application fulfils the requirements and the initial approval is received, the applicant receives a six-month multiple-entry visa. If you're outside the country, you can travel to the UAE to apply for an ID card and undergo medical checks. After completing this process, full approval is granted, and you will receive the residence visa within a few days. 

Step 4: From the time the application is submitted until it is approved, the processing time for the residence application is three months.
